South Africa: Table Mountain
There can be no sight in the world more unmistakeable than this great edifice. Capetown shelters at its foot and as it faces north it was for centuries the first sight of this wonderful country experienced by sailors and travellers from Europe. I cannot view them without wishing to return and can only lament the passing of the Union Castle line leaving visitors the ignominy of air travel. Sit on the right hand side of the aeroplane during the descent to Capetown for the view of a lifetime!

Bloubergstrand beach

Oiled penguins recovered from much of Southern Africa are released here after treatment. They find their way back to their original beaches, sometimes 300/400 miles away in a matter of days.
