South Africa: Mount Nelson
Undisputably one of the best hotels in the world and has been voted 'the best'.The walk to the centre of the city of Cape Town is down the full length of Company Gardens which takes you past some of the most impressive public buildings in South Africa. I have never left without the utmost regret and can never think of a single thing that could have increased the enjoyment of my stay.Everything you could wish for in a hotel is there but what sets it apart from many luxury hotels of the world is the incredible quality and dedication of its people.
The Garden pool
The pool and adjacent garden can be seen from the breakfast room. At precisely 8am the boys and girls bring into the garden several hundred sun loungers and cushions. They start the day in a straight line. Straight means straight at the Mount Nelson.The team lines up alongside the chairs and the leader stands at one end calling the number of the chair which may need adjusting an inch or two to ensure a ruler straight line!
Guests are then invited to indicate where on the lawn they would like reside.
