South Africa: Wineries
Nearly all the wine from South Africa is grown in the Western Cape. South Africans would not claim that their wine is the best in the world although some Sauvignon Blancs, Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons and Shiraz's are up there with the best. But very few would argue that the beauty of the mountains and valleys where the wine is grown and the Dutch Barns where the grapes are fermented and vinified are undoubtedly the most staggeringly beautiful in the world. And when you think of Central Otago, Victoria, Tuscany and not to mention the Cote D'Or, Loire Valley and Provence it is a real accolade to this gorgeous country.
And to delight the traveller beyond belief, there are hundreds of them. Here are just samples of a dozen of my favourites

Graham Beck

Highly successful producer and his wines taste familiar. That is because they are made for the international marketplace and they are very good too!
