South Africa: Paternoster
This is a charming little village on the West Coast about a two hour drive from Cape Town. The air is very clear and the South Atlantic cold. As the latitude is much nearer the equator than, say, Madeira in the North Atlantic this is surprising until one reflects on the huge impact the Gulf stream has on the shores (and climate) of Western Europe.Worth a visit if just for the glorious sunsets.
