Steeple Aston; The Church of St. Peter and St.Paul
This fine church dates back to the 12th Century with later additions. In 1940, Robert and Charlotte, hero and heroine in the novel, "Aynho Junction" first viewed the church from the top of a straw stack while admiring the William Joyce eyecatcher.

The Tower

The Tower

The true height of the tower cannot be appreciated from any angle that the church as a whole can be satisfactorily photographed from. Here it is in splendid isolation.
