Drayton, St Peter
Close to the village but hidden away in the valley so has to be sought out. A rewarding experience as this is an interesting medieval church from the Decorated period. The very short West tower was added in 1808. Inside the arcade is of three bays with typical Decorated octagonal piers and moulded capitals. The windows are mainly Decorated and Perpendicular and the North aisle East window has good flowing tracery. The East window of the chancel has reticulated tracery. The knight on a chest tomb in the vestry is dated at 1440
